This just in! Rovio just announced that they have purchased the rights to the frustratingly hard -- yet uber popular -- game "Flappy Bird" from creator Dong Nguyen and publisher .GEARS Studios. The game will be re-branded as a spin-off of the popular Angry Birds series, with the title character getting an Angry Birds make-over to better fit the look of his fellow avians.Nguyen recently stated he would be re-releasing Flappy Birds, but few could have foreseen its return this way. Details are scarce, but we have obtained some early screenshots of the updated game. It looks like it will use the standard slingshot device to start Flappy on his path. IAP Power-ups look to be added as well.

The Carbonite takes 8 hours to melt, so you can earn a free Swap once per 8 hours. Or, if you're impatient, melt the Carbonite immediately for 80 Coins (this price decreases as the timer counts down).
- "Traitor" Mode! At least, that's what I want to call it. You can now use Bird Swaps on Pork Side levels, and vice versa, for a small fee. To become a traitor for a single level costs 10 Coins, and for all levels costs 299 Coins. Note that these are separate purchases per side.
- Disable Character Hints! If you're tired of getting instructions on how to use a character, you can disable this in the home screen: Click on the Gear, then the exclamation point (or "shriek"). Bye-bye pesky reminders!

Angry Birds Rio Blossom River Episode Now Available!
Grab your swim trunks and tanning lotion, Angry Birds Rio Blossom River (v2.1.0) is now available for iOS, Mac, and Android via Google Play. The update should be landing for more platforms pretty soon.Note: In the previous update, Angry Birds Rio was now broken up into two chapters: Rio and Rio 2. Episodes like Smuggler's Den, Jungle Escape, etc. are found in the first chapter, while Rocket Rumble, High Dive, and Blossom River are in the second.This update includes:
- 20 new levels in the new Blossom River episode! Jump from riverboat to riverboat in your attacks against the evil marmosets! Our walkthrough videos are live!
- Golden Anchors! There are 10 to find hidden throughout the 20 normal levels. If you need help, consult our videos!
- 6 bonus levels! Unlock these by earning 30, 40, and 50 stars; collecting all Golden Anchors; and earning 7 and 15 feathers (mobile only).
- 1 new iOS achievement for completing the episode.
- Find the "Playground" episode yet? Added in the previous update, these are five complementary levels to try out Power Ups and the Mighty Eagle for free! Our walkthroughs are live for these levels as well!
- The Rio Leaderboard is ready for your scores. But remember, Power Up scores are NOT permitted on ABN Leaderboards. This includes the Playground episode.

Angry Birds Space Beak Impact Update Coming June 5th
Rovio is celebrating #SpaceDay with NASA by announcing a brand new Angry Birds Space update called "Beak Impact". The new episode is to be released on June 5th, 2014. Rovio’s New “LVL11″ Publishing Arm Announces It’s First Game: RETRY
In an interview with PocketGamer.biz, Jami Laes, EVP of Rovio's global games operations revealed Rovio's new publishing arm: "LVL11".
While we have people making Angry Birds, in the next room there are the guys dreaming completely new things. Some of those things are so different that we wanted to package that in a different way and come up with a publishing title for it, a publishing label if you will. We decided to call it LVL11LVL11 is a bit like Rovio Stars, but for Rovio's own experimental projects that might not fit under the Rovio brand we all know. RETRY -- which is shown in the video above -- is the first game to come out of the LVL11. In this side scrolling, 8-bit game, you pilot a plane through a maze of obstacles to collect coins.
RETRY – a game so hard, so addictive, so old school that you’ll think you've stepped into an 8-bit time machine and gone back to 1986. Totally rad!Is it Flappy Bird hard? If so, the name "RETRY" will definitely be fitting. RETRY is currently only available through the iOS App Stores in Finland, Canada, and Poland. A worldwide release will be out soon. It's unclear at this time which platforms RETRY will be released on, but I would guess that it will be widely available.I am excited to see what type of games come out of LVL11 and am eager to give RETRY a spin. Of the many successes Rovio has had in creating Angry Birds as a worldwide entertainment brand, one of the most surprising is the popularity of Angry Birds soft drinks.Back in November, 2012, Peter Vesterbacka, Rovio's CMO annouced at the Slush conference that in Finland, Angry Birds soft drinks were outselling longtime giants Coca Cola and Pepsi.Partnering with Olvi to produce these soft drinks and juices, they are now available in over 20 countries around the world. Recently the soft drinks have undergone a makeover, sporting a whole new look to the cans. Explore new facets of life on Piggy Island with new Angry Birds Books
As Rovio continues to expand Angry Birds as a worldwide entertainment franchise, they continue to venture into several new areas. With a theatrical movie coming, a soft drink line that continues to grow, and of course the games we all know and love, it’s easy to overlook some of the products available. One of the areas you wouldn’t immediately think of are books. Rovio has released a catalog and highlights of books available or coming in spring 2014 on their site that show a wide range of books that appeal to a wide variety of fans.While aimed at a younger audience, the books look to be fun for all ages. There are several types: Activity books, story books, cook books, arts and crafts and more, such as the tantalizingly titled, "Bad Piggies Book of Wisdom. Angry Birds Universe | Travelling Angry Birds Science Exhibit | Coming soon to your area?
Rovio has partnered with Imagine Exhibitions, Inc, and JRA (Jack Rouse Associates) to create "Angry Birds Universe: The Art And Science Behind A Global Phenomenon." This is a travelling exhibit focusing on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) concepts that allows visitors several hands-on experiences to learn about the scientific principles of Angry Birds games. It will travel around America as a 10,000 square foot exhibit, touring science centers, natural history museums and other venues.The exhibit features a theatrical pre-show experience, bird launches overhead throughout, and even a zip-line, allowing visitors to “be the bird.” The tour is also in line with Rovio's current initiative to improve education through new methods using the Angry Birds characters. While a schedule or map of where the tour will be visiting is not currently available, we will update with any new information as we receive it. New Angry Birds Star Wars Plush Toys are Coming to a Store Near You
Back in February, Commonwealth Toys, the company that makes Angry Birds plush toys, displayed several new Star Wars themed Angry Birds plush toys at the New York 2014 Toy Fair.A vast assortment of favorite characters was shown, including Bird and Pig versions of Boba Fett, Lando, an Ewok, Darth Maul, Yoda, Jar-Jar and more.While we were unable to attend, SirStevesGuide.com did and got lots of pictures. Angry Birds Star Wars II Rise of the Clones Update Out Now!
I hope you went out and bought some AAA batteries after our announcement yesterday. Otherwise your lightsabers and blasters might not be ready for this awesome new update! Set on Kamino and Coruscant, Angry Birds Star Wars II Rise of the Clones (v1.5) is now available for iOS, with more platforms coming soon.This update includes:
- 40 new levels in Episode 4: Rise of the Clones! Per usual, these levels are split as 20 on the Bird side and 20 on the Pork side. Our walkthroughs are live if you need help.
Note: You must pick your side when you first attempt to open the episode. For example, if you choose the Bird Side, the Pork Side will unlock after accumulating 35 stars in the Bird Side or pay 700 Bird Coins. (The price in Bird Coins in 20 times however many stars you still need to unlock the side.) - 4 new secret levels, which means two new treasure maps to find! We'll help you find them all in our Complete Treasure Maps guide.
- 4 new gameplay characters! Now play as Padawan Anakin, Mace Windu, Jedi Youngling, and Boba Fett!
- No new hidden Bonus Boxes in this release, but maybe in the future. If you need help finding boxes from previous releases, head to our handy guide.
- 4 new achievements!

Confirmed! The first Angry Birds Stella Game is Coming this Fall. Plus, a First Glimpse at an Actual Level
Rovio has confirmed with a Tweet that the first game in the Angry Birds Stella franchise is due out this Fall. The fall time frame isn't new, but the fact that they have confirmed a game release is. AND THIS JUST IN they have now revealed the first ever level from the game: I'm sure most of you will be super excited to see a slingshot! Wow! This level is gorgeous. Super colorful and looks to be full of interesting items. Like those pink blocks. It looks like Stella can target and bounce off of them. Or maybe this is showing Stella using a Power Up, as there is a silver anvil on the top left that has the lightning bolt inside. And what's up with that Golden Frog (with tail I should add)? Is that something to collect or simply a decoration.What else do you guys see? You’ll first meet Stella and friends in September in a totally new game, which will have new powers to challenge even the hardened Angry Birds veterans. In November there’s a new animation series of thirteen six minute episodes which you can watch on the ToonsTV channel, TV and other video services. There will be Hasbro TELEPODS figures powered by Retoy, a series of books and all kinds of exciting stuff coming your way before the end of this year!The names of the birds isn't necessarily new either, but in case you haven't seen them they are:

Angry Birds Space Beak Impact Now Available!
It's been a little while since the last update Angry Birds Space -- nearly 9 months in fact. But that's in the past. Today, Beak Impact (v2.0.0) has landed! We first announced this update on May 2nd, courtesy of a Rovio/NASA tweet. The update is currently available for iOS and Android via Google Play, with more platforms coming soon.This update includes:![Angry Birds Space Beak Impact Part 2 IAP]()
- 40 new levels in the Beak Impact episode! This is the largest update ever to Space! Our walkthroughs are live if you need help.
Note: Beak Impact is split into 2 parts. To unlock Part 2, you must 3-star levels 8-1 through 8-20. If this task seems to tough, there's a $0.99 USD in-app purchase to unlock Part 2 as well. - Four new Antenna Egg levels! As expected, there is one for levels 8-1 through 8-10, one for 8-11 through 8-20, one for 8-21 through 8-30, and one for 8-31 through 8-40.
- Two new Sardine Can levels! These are unlocked by obtaining all 20 feathers using the Space Eagle in each of Part 1 and Part 2. These walkthroughs will take us a bit more time to get to, but please be patient.
- Four NASA Spacecrafts! Find each to unlock a bonus level: Orion Crew Vehicle, OSIRIS-REx, Deep Impact, and Dawn. We will leave their locations a mystery here. But be sure to keep an eye out and check out our Complete Eggsteroids Guide
- Four new iOS achievements!
